About Dr. Bennett

Dr. Bennett is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in New York State with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Howard University. She specializes in treating anxiety and trauma, stressors associated with life transitions, low mood and depression, women’s issues, and caregiver and aging related stress. She completed a predoctoral internship at the Albany Psychology Internship Consortium, and a postdoctoral fellowship at Albany Medical College. She has trained in a variety of settings, including academic health centers, community health, inpatient psychiatric, residential treatment for substance use disorders, the VA, and schools. Prior to starting a private practice, she worked as a Psychologist and Behavioral health specialist in a rural primary care setting, providing therapeutic services to patients and their families, supporting primary care physicians and advanced practice clinicians in collaborative care, and supervising other therapists. She continues to supervise therapists in their work in primary care settings and has extensive work and lived experience in both rural and urban environments. Dr. Bennett integrates psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, attachment, and mind/body based approaches. Her doctoral research centered health disparities and emotion regulation in Black communities.
